MANILA, Philippines — Sinimulan na kahapon ng Pilipinas at Amerika ang pagsasagawa ng joint patrols sa West Philippine Sea.

Ayon kay Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr., magkasama na ngayong nagpapatrolya sa karagatan at himpapawid ng bansa ang pwersa ng Armed Forces of the ­Philippines at United States-Indo Pacific Command sa West Philippine Sea.

“Today marks the beginning of joint maritime and air patrols — a collaborative effort between the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the United States Indo-Pacific Command in the West Philippine Sea,” pahayag ni Pangulong Marcos.

Ang tatlong araw na pinagsamang aktibidad ay naglalayong palakasin ang interoperability ng parehong pwersang militar sa pagsasagawa ng pagpapatrolya.

Sinabi pa ni Marcos na ang joint patrols ay bahagi ng serye ng mga aktibidad na napagkasunduan ng Mutual Defense Board - Security Engagement Board ng parehong bansa.

Magpapatuloy ang joint maritime and air patrols hanggang ngayong Huwebes.
