Cat on a Hot Tin Roof is one of Tennessee Williams' most famous plays and was said to be his personal favorite. Set over the course of one day at a Mississippi plantation in the early twentieth century, it follows the tribulations of the Pollitt family on the sixty-fifth birthday of the family's patriarch, Big Daddy. Particularly, it looks at at two core relationships: Big Daddy's troubled relationship with his younger son, Brick, an athlete who abuses alcohol since his career was derailed by injury; and Brick's own troubled relationship with his wife, Maggie, as Maggie struggles to both revive her sexual relationship with Brick after she had a brief affair with his beloved best friend...
