Introduction to Kurt Vonnegut's Short Stories

Welcome to the Monkey House is a collection of 25 of Kurt Vonnegut's short stories published in 1968. All but one story, "The Hyannis Port Story," were previously published in magazines and other periodicals, including Playboy, Collier's, Esquire, and Cosmopolitan (amongst others), between 1950 and 1968. The stories range in genre from science fiction to speculative to war-time epic to romance. The stories deal with themes of individualism, alienation, the societal impact of technological innovation, and sexuality.
