From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler, published in 1968, tells the story of sixth-grader Claudia Kincaid and her younger brother, nine-year-old Jamie, who run away from home and stay at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. While there, they encounter a mysterious statue, Angel, which may or may not have been sculpted by the legendary Michelangelo Buonarroti. Claudia becomes determined to solve the mystery of the statue, and to be a different person when she finally returns home to Connecticut.
