Set in modern Kenya, Blossoms of the Savannah explores the collision between traditional village culture and the modern, increasingly globalized world. After growing up and receiving a modern education in the city of Nakuru, protagonists Taiyo and Resian find themselves thrust into traditional village culture when their father, Ole Kaelo, loses his job and moves his family back to Nasila, the village in which he was born and raised.
