Published in 2020, The Midnight Library explores the concept of unlived parallel lives. Nora Seed has a series of bad breaks that lead her to attempt suicide. Instead of dying, Nora is transported to the midnight library, where she is given the opportunity to experience all the different lives she could have led based on different choices. As Nora cycles through these different lives, she is given a renewed sense of purpose that reignites her will to live.
The Midnight Library is author Matt Haig's fifth novel. It was shortlisted for the 2021 British Book Awards "Fiction Book of the Year" and adapted into a ten-episode radio series for BBC Radio 4.
