The Vatican has announced that it will gradually replace its fleet of vehicles running on fossil fuel with electric vehicles to make its car fleet carbon-neutral by 2030.

Donald Cooper, the director of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change’s transparency division, called on delegates to actively participate in the COP28 climate negotiations in Dubai later this month.

The collaboration with the EPA also seeks to develop the capacity of the DENR’s Environmental Management Bureau, environment chief Maria Antonia Yulo-Loyzaga said. 

The International Indigenous Peoples Forum on Climate, representing indigenous peoples at the Asia Pacific Climate Week 2023 in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, emphasized that indigenous peoples should be treated as “key partners” in climate change dialogue, not merely beneficiaries. 

In a paper presented at the Asia Pacific Climate Week, the Asia Feminist Coalition stressed the need to actively redress the structural disparities in the patriarchal and extractive energy system during the transition to clean energy.
