CEBU, Philippines — The Cebu City police have arrested the suspect in the killing of a woman in Sitio Tarcum, Upper Laguerta, Barangay Busay on Monday afternoon.

The Mabolo Police Station 4 personnel immediately conducted a hot pursuit operation after the incident that resulted in the arrest of Marwin Caballes, 38 years old.

A woman identified as Maria Caparida who is said to be mentally challenged was shot dead Monday morning in the said place.

Report said that Caparida was just in the covered court in the place when a man arrived and without hesitation shot her twice.

The victim was taken to the hospital but died from the gunshot wounds.

The police have recovered a 38 revolver with two live bullets from the suspect.

Caballes reportedly went to the covered court to take revenge on the one who shot dead his son, Marvin Caballes, 19 years old, in Sitio Nivel Hills, Barangay Busay.

It was said that the father went to Sitio Tarcum and looked for the person identified as Wilbert Belarmino who allegedly shot his son but was not there and instead found the woman.

“Panimalos lang to siya on the spot, at that time ang amahan naa sa taas nga emotion nga nakahuna-huna siya sa pagbuhat but supposed to be dili gyud to niya buhaton kay naa man tay balaod, naa tay proseso ana,” said Lt. Col. Janette Rafter, deputy director for operations of the Cebu City Police Office.

Marwin is allegedly involved in illegal drugs with his son, Marvin. — (FREEMAN)
